Airlock appointed to BBC digital roster... three times over
The new BBC digital rosters are announced this week and we've been appointed to not one, not two, but three of them. By our count we're one of only two agencies who have been selected by the BBC to work across three rosters. A huge congrats to everyone involved.

Radio 1 Big Weekend
Big Weekend is a world-renowned festival of music by Radio, which this year was held in Carlisle in May and featured artists such as Lady Gaga and Foo Fighters. We worked with Radio 1 to enable live play-out of the event via a bespoke content management framework within BBC's Forge platform.
Lightening does strike twice. We have won the International Emmy for best Digital Program - Children & Young People.
Well done to all the team at Airlock, Raw TV and C4 Education. I think the expression is...woot!
Always wanted to be in the movies but the career got in the way? This could be your casting call - check out our new campaign for NBC which allows you to sign up to be a victim in a new Vampire flick on Syfy. Users can sign up and post their casting card to Facebook as well as getting an insight into their vampire personality.
Pleased to report our second nomination for an International Emmy for Battlefront II (Digital Program - Children and Young people). We share the nomination with Raw TV - hope we can repeat the success of the first series.
To support the launch of the US cop drama, Rookie Blue in the UK, we’ve created a social media game, “Frisk, Marry, Cuff” based on the playground classic “Kiss, Marry, Kill”. You can play the game today but you’ll have to wait till the 27th for the UK premiere of Rookie Blue on the Universal Channel.
We were most happy to see one of our projects trending on Twitter today - a new multi-channel streaming solution for live events for BBC Introducing Musicians’ Masterclass 2011. Footage was streamed live from Abbey Road and Maida Vale studios as new musicians were given the opportunity to engage with established artists. Users can follow the online conversation via the Twitter feed to the right of the page.
Airlock picked up an award at this year's BIMA's. Together with Raw Television we won the Social Media award for the work we've done on Battlefront II for Channel 4. A huge congrats to everyone involved.
Music website last.fm sought our assistance in integrating group pages for [BBC 6 Music](http://www.last.fm/group/BBC+Radio+6+Music) and [Freakzone](http://www.last.fm/group/BBC+Radio+6+Music%3A+Stuart+Maconie%27s+Freakzone)
We developed templates that allow the easy integration of components and content from across the BBC.
We are happy to say our new site for The Archers is live.
The Archers is the longest running soap in the world.
A few points of note:
- The new site integrates with systems from across the BBC
- An interactive map and timeline provides a new way of browsing and interacting with the programme
- The site also gives direct access to the shows authors, who are now blogging on site
Don't take our word for it - let Stephen Fry tell you all about it [here](http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/the-archers/about)
The countdown to MIP has begun and the diaries are filling up. If you're interested in digital's convergence with broadcast and want to chat or just fancy a martini at L'Atelier, book a slot with Michael. michael.parsons@airlock.com or 0207 173 0600
Go forth and campaign and may the world rapidly become a better place. We are very pleased to say that C4's Battlefront II is now live. The next chapter in the Battlefront digital odyssey sees a project with even more social media integration, more ways to to get involved, more video and games as well as a platform to start and run your own campaign. We look forward to a busy year of much change.
Our live console for the BBC has just launched, providing direct access to the Glastonbury festival, from web cams in the 6 Music studio to the headliners on the pyramid stage.
Alas we did not walk away with one of the deceptively heavy gongs at last night's BAFTAs for our work on C4's 'One Born Every Minute'. However congratulations to Dragonfly for doing the business with the TV show. It was a great night either way and we hope to be back next year with a fraction more success...
The shortlist for this year's Webby's was announced today and we've been nominated three times over. Battlefront has been shortlisted in the Activism category, Teenage Cancer Trust picked up a nomination in the Charity section, whilst the Save our Sounds is up for the Best Use of Social Media award.
Help us secure us the People's Voice awards. Please vote for us here:

Ever wanted to know what life is really like on a Maternity Ward? Check out our new work for Channel 4 that launched this week. The site is a partner project to the new TV series, 'One Born Every Minute' that airs later this month and reveals the ins and outs of birth as it happens - no airbrushing, the real thing. The site covers a broad range of topics and issues through extensive video content and a number of fun, engaging content pieces. It has been an amazing project to work on, so we hope you enjoy it.
Check out our new site for Radio 1's Picture Message Day and get involved! All you need to do is get hold of your mobile and take a picture of yourself or whatever the DJ on air asks you to and send it in. All messages are free to send today (Friday 11th 2009).
Save Our Sounds has won gold for Best Cross-Media Promotion or Campaign at the The Radio Academy Promotions & Marketing awards. The project was produced in conjunction with the BBC World Service and AudioBoo, allowing users from around the world to upload endangered sounds directly to the site for playback online and in broadcast.

The nominations for this year's BIMA awards have been announced and we're happy to say that for the second year running we're up for an award. Battlefront has been nominated in the best website category. The competition is stiff (we're up against the iPlayer!) but we reckon we've got a shot at it.
The insight is simple - there are numerous ways to capture the visual world, but barely anything in sound. The BBC World Service is trying to put that right and is asking people to help preserve 'endangered sounds' by recording and sharing them. The recordings are all displayed on an interactive map, developed by Airlock, that allows you to upload audio and place it exactly where it was captured. Other users can then click around and travel the world in sound.
We're having to make room in the trophy cabinet to fit in all the awards that Battlefront keeps winning. This week it was awarded best Youth Programme at the 30th Banff World Television Awards (“The Rockies”). Next week we're up for an RTS Education Award back home in Blighty. Keep 'em coming.
We scooped silver for Best Multiplatform project at the Sony Radio Academy Awards last night for our 'World on the Move' project for BBC Radio 4.
'World On The Move used muti-media to take radio programming into areas not within the traditional remit of radio. Its subject matter was brought to life in the most captivating of manners and listeners were able to use the various platforms to generate new content.'
Couldn't have put it better ourselves.
If the Emmy wasn't enough, we've now been shortlisted in the Interactive Innovation category for this years BAFTAs. To be honest we're not sure we have the shelf space...
Battlefront has won the Digital Emmy® Award for Children and Young People last night at MIP in Cannes. Airlock and Raw TV produced the show for Channel 4, which follows and supports 20 young campaigners as they try to change the world. We are most happy.
Time to get those Tuxedos to the dry cleaners. We've been nominated for this years Digital Emmy Awards being held in Cannes later this month. Battlefront has been shortlisted in the 'children and young people' category. The competition's strong but we think we've got a good chance. Wish us luck.
We're SO down with the kids. Clearly impressed by our social media marketing skills and British accents, Airlock has scooped the massive MTV EMAs project. We're designing, building and supporting the new site, which includes a rather clever tear-off voting mechanic. The countdown begins...
For the past few months we’ve been beavering away on the site for Radio 4’s ambitious World on the Move project, and it’s just been released into the wild. Supporting the groundbreaking, 40-programme-strong series, the site is a corner stone multiplatform project for the BBC, which offers a truly interactive way for audiences to get involved with this fantastic project.
We're pleased to say that we've been chosen to design and build the new website for BBC2's upcoming rock-fest, Seven Ages of Rock. The website will be the online destination for all mods, rockers, indie kids and metal heads when the seven-part documentary screens this summer. Rock on!
