Airlock appointed to BBC digital roster... three times over
The new BBC digital rosters are announced this week and we've been appointed to not one, not two, but three of them. By our count we're one of only two agencies who have been selected by the BBC to work across three rosters. A huge congrats to everyone involved.

Elizabeth says something she regrets...
It's all happening in Ambridge so we've been busy making updates to the Archer's website to accomodate all the drama. Have a read of the following blog entry to find out more. You might want to sit down first.
Big Weekend is a world-renowned festival of music by Radio, which this year was held in Carlisle in May and featured artists such as Lady Gaga and Foo Fighters. We worked with Radio 1 to enable live play-out of the event via a bespoke content management framework within BBC's Forge platform.
We were most happy to see one of our projects trending on Twitter today - a new multi-channel streaming solution for live events for BBC Introducing Musicians’ Masterclass 2011. Footage was streamed live from Abbey Road and Maida Vale studios as new musicians were given the opportunity to engage with established artists. Users can follow the online conversation via the Twitter feed to the right of the page.
Music website last.fm sought our assistance in integrating group pages for [BBC 6 Music](http://www.last.fm/group/BBC+Radio+6+Music) and [Freakzone](http://www.last.fm/group/BBC+Radio+6+Music%3A+Stuart+Maconie%27s+Freakzone)
We developed templates that allow the easy integration of components and content from across the BBC.
Haud awee and prog at our new Ulster Scots website for the BBC. The site functions as an archive and platform for speakers of the wonderful Ulster Scots dialect. It includes a word of the day section and an A-Z of key Ulster Scots words and phrases. Users can now create their own personalised dashboard for their favourite features.
We are happy to say our new site for The Archers is live.
The Archers is the longest running soap in the world.
A few points of note:
- The new site integrates with systems from across the BBC
- An interactive map and timeline provides a new way of browsing and interacting with the programme
- The site also gives direct access to the shows authors, who are now blogging on site
Don't take our word for it - let Stephen Fry tell you all about it [here](http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/the-archers/about)
Save Our Sounds, the social project to literally save endangered sounds from extinction is up for a Digital Impact Award in the Best use of existing social media tools/sites category.
Our live console for the BBC has just launched, providing direct access to the Glastonbury festival, from web cams in the 6 Music studio to the headliners on the pyramid stage.
Check out our new site for Radio 1's Picture Message Day and get involved! All you need to do is get hold of your mobile and take a picture of yourself or whatever the DJ on air asks you to and send it in. All messages are free to send today (Friday 11th 2009).
We've been appointed by BBC Northern ireland to design the first Ulster Scots website. The site will be launching in the early part of next year. Stayed tuned for more information. In the meantime take a look at one of the projects we'll be working on, [A Kist O' Wurds](http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/radioulster/a_kist_o_wurds/).

Save Our Sounds wins gold
Save Our Sounds has won gold for Best Cross-Media Promotion or Campaign at the The Radio Academy Promotions & Marketing awards. The project was produced in conjunction with the BBC World Service and AudioBoo, allowing users from around the world to upload endangered sounds directly to the site for playback online and in broadcast.

The insight is simple - there are numerous ways to capture the visual world, but barely anything in sound. The BBC World Service is trying to put that right and is asking people to help preserve 'endangered sounds' by recording and sharing them. The recordings are all displayed on an interactive map, developed by Airlock, that allows you to upload audio and place it exactly where it was captured. Other users can then click around and travel the world in sound.
Check out our new mapping service being used in support of BBC Sport's Wimbledon coverage. Better coverage = more fans = British winner?
We'll see (Go Andy).
We scooped silver for Best Multiplatform project at the Sony Radio Academy Awards last night for our 'World on the Move' project for BBC Radio 4.
'World On The Move used muti-media to take radio programming into areas not within the traditional remit of radio. Its subject matter was brought to life in the most captivating of manners and listeners were able to use the various platforms to generate new content.'
Couldn't have put it better ourselves.
Eight contestants, one prize and our website to bring you all the laughter, tears and sneers the series has to offer. Airlock has been invited back to work with the BBC to inject a huge dose of fun and excitement into the art of conducting. Why not try your hand at wooing the crowds with our new flash game “Maestro Prodigy”.
For the past few months we’ve been beavering away on the site for Radio 4’s ambitious World on the Move project, and it’s just been released into the wild. Supporting the groundbreaking, 40-programme-strong series, the site is a corner stone multiplatform project for the BBC, which offers a truly interactive way for audiences to get involved with this fantastic project.
BBC News has asked us to provide a data visualisation platform for the ever popular Have Your Say section of their site. The tool is intended to provide new and meaningful ways of interpreting the user generated content garnered against breaking news.
Airlock's been given the green light to redesign the Top Gear website after pitching against some of adland's finest. With our collective fascination with fast cars and love of a good gag, we can't wait to get started. More soon.
Airlock is chuffed to be working with Top Gear on their upcoming F1 fan site. Watch this space for more details.

BBC Music, win
We're pleased to say that we've been chosen to design and build the new website for BBC2's upcoming rock-fest, Seven Ages of Rock. The website will be the online destination for all mods, rockers, indie kids and metal heads when the seven-part documentary screens this summer. Rock on!
